The show was held in the
Bellekouter Exhibition Hall, Affligem. A town made famous for a wonderful beer
- which was also a good "selling point" for us going there (!) - Affligem is
located to the North-West of Brussels, making it really easily
accessible from the UK.
Our display was staged on four single-depth tables,
giving us an area of about 8 metres x 1 metre. There are 114 models on the
whole display, one in 1/32nd scale, ten in 1/48th, with all the rest in 1/72nd
scale. They were made by six of our members.
As well as the International Competition and
display stands covering all genres of modelling, the show also featured an
exhibition of civil and Military vehicles. It was attended by model clubs and
traders from all over Belgium and France, so we saw many of our "old friends"
again - and were also very pleased to have some of our Dutch SIG members join
us at our display stand too.
The show was well supported from the UK, with the
Bomber Command SIG of IPMS(UK) joining us on our trip and IPMS(UK) Branches
Salisbury and Mid-Sussex displaying there too. There were also several traders
from the UK. |
