Overseas Shows

EuroScaleModelling 2011

Utrecht, Netherlands.

Our first trip to Holland, to display at the Dutch "Nationals".
This was also the first time we have ever done a one-day overseas show,
on Saturday 22nd October 2011.

The show was held in the Nieuwegein Business Centre, just south of Utrecht. It has to be said that IPMS Netherlands did an outstanding job of setting up an amazing model show, holding a National Competition and then clearing the venue again - all in one day !

In honour of our hosts, we set up a central theme of "Dutch Aerobatic Teams", on an orange table covering.

There are 75 models on the whole display.

Although a relatively small event for a "National Show", there were a lot of both club displays and traders, as well as International involvement from not only ourselves and other IPMS(UK) Branches, but also modellers from the Czech Republic and Poland too. It attracted an excellent number of visitors through the doors, which is always good to see. Overall, there was a great atmosphere, really friendly and relaxed.

Saturday evening after the show, we went out for a very enjoyable dinner with our Dutch hosts - and because it was only a one-day show, they also escorted us on a visit to the nearby Soesterburg Air Base, home to the Dutch Air Force Museum, the following day.

Some IPMS NL members joined on to us to display their own collections of display team models :
